APFC Panels (Automatic Power Factor Correction)

APFC panel

APFC Panels are microcontroller or PLC-based systems designed to automatically maintain the desired power factor by switching capacitor banks in and out of the system.

Key Features:

  • Fast switching via contactor or thyristor (TSC)

  • Detuned reactors (189 Hz/134 Hz) to limit harmonics

  • Intelligent PF controller with auto/learn modes

  • Industrial-grade protection with MCCB/MCB and copper busbars

  • Improves power factor to ≥ 0.98 (site dependent)

  • Available in IP20 to IP54 enclosures

SVG (Static Var Generator)

SVG

SVGs are IGBT-based, inverter-driven solutions that dynamically inject or absorb reactive current in real time. Unlike APFC Panels, SVG offers stepless power factor correction, harmonic mitigation, and load balancing for highly dynamic, non-linear loads.

  • Ultra-fast response time (<20 ms)

  • Stepless ±1 p.u. (per unit) reactive current injection

  • Harmonic filtering & unbalance correction

  • Maintains PF up to 0.99 (lead/lag)

  • Modular & scalable design (parallel up to Mvar {megavolt-ampere reactive})

  • Ideal for cranes, elevators, VFDs, welders, data centers
